The international hotel chain – Holiday Inn was founded in the USA more than 50 years ago. The company has developed fast and as of today, it is one of the best-known business hotel chains in the world. Media Design branded their hotel in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. This included channel letters on the facade, a totem on the parking lot, a sign for the restaurant, and a multi-layered Plexiglas decorative element on the reception. All advertising installations were manufactured according to the high standards of the hotel Holiday Inn.
Creative idea with a complex structure
The Plexiglas decorative element for the reception has a complex multi-layered structure that adds depth to the graphic. Here is how we actually achieved it?
The element is designed from two parts, base and decorative Plexiglas sheets. The base is a Plexiglas box (opal) with embedded LED lighting. That creates an attractive illumination effect, caused by the overlapping of the Plexiglas sheets and the embedded LED lighting. The manufacture and the assembly of the top side were done with great precision. We assembled all elements with distance holders with different thickness. They provide a hierarchical structure of the advertising installation.
For the branding, we singled out 3M 7725-326 Scotchcal Crystal Mint Film – green frosted film. This adds to the applied surfaces an elegant frosted (matte) effect that fully reduces the unpleasant glare. We used this film for all Plexiglas elements and added inox lids on all distance holders.
